MMSC132

This card is for the sketch challenge at Priscilla's Midnight Madness blog.  After I colored the image, I added Ruby Slipper Stickles to the holly berries - which darkened them quite a bit.  Hopefully, when they dry, they will sparkle a bit and not be so dark.  Even though the sun is out today, the sparkle didn't show up in the Stickles or the gold specks woven in the ribbon.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: House Mouse Holiday Smooch
Paper:  Memory Box Yuletide DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Holly leaves: YG25, 23, 21, YG07, 05, 03, 01 and Berries: R35, 35; Bird: R85, 83, 81, R000, 0000, YR02; Mouse: E35, 33, 31, R21 and 30
Accessories:  Corner rounder punch; Red ribbon with gold threads - Really Reasonable Ribbon; Ruby Slipper Stickles

At least today isn't quite so dreary.  However, DH's cold is much worse.  We called his doctor today - hoping for an appointment today or tomorrow and his doctor is out sick and they aren't booking anything for him tomorrow - not until Friday.  So, we have an appointment at 4:00 p.m. Friday - unless he starts feeling better - which is doubtful - especially, the way he is coughing.

So, that's it for today.  Oh, P.S.  my cat, Missy, is much better!!

Later gator!

Squigglefly 126 Challenge

The challenge at Squigglefly this week is to show something or someone outside in the cold.  I used this cute digi from Squigglefly (amongst so very many wonderful digis in the store) titled "Staying Warm" by Lynne Stansberry for Squigglefly.  The little boy reminds me of the younger brother in "The Christmas Story."

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Staying Warm digi by Lynne Stansberry for Squigglefly
Paper:  Echo Park Season's Greetings DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Snowsuit:  G09, 07, 05; Hat: YG07, 05, 03; Ear Muffs: YG03, 01; Scarf/Mittens: R29, 27, 24; Boots: C7, 5, 3; Face: E21, 00, 000

Thanks for stopping by.  Later gator!

There's Magic in the Air

The challenge at There's Magic in the Air this week is to make a shabby chic card or a vintage card.  Not being very good at either one of those categories, I finally went with vintage.  I distressed the edges of everything on the card, including the image, added distress ink to everything, including the base panel - added lace - hope that's distressed enough!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Merry Little Christmas digi - Paper Cupcakes
Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Coat/Mittens:  BG32, 11, 10; Hat: BG78, 75, 72, 10; Holley and Berries: YR05, 03 and R24; Nose: YR04, 02; Star: YR23, 20; Tim Holtz Distress Tea Dye Ink
Accessories:  Red self-adhesive rhinestones; Brown Lace - Really Reasonable Ribbon; SU pop dots

Thanks for taking a look - later gator!

KKKGz71

The challenge at Kenny K's Krafty Girlz this week is to use "stitching - real or faux."  The challenge didn't say how much stitching you had to use, so I did a few stitches at the top.  Hopefully, my stitching will be more elaborate soon.  I just got my new Singer Stylist sewing machine.  And, I don't know how to use a sewing machine, but my sweet sis is going to teach me at the end of this week, so that I can start putting stitches on my cards.  I really like the look of stitching on cards and, hopefully, I will be adding that to my card recipes soon.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Snowman digi - Kenny K's Downloads
Paper:  Echo Park Season's Greetings DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Hat:  BG78, 75, 72, R27, 24; Scarf: R29, 27 and 24; Nose: YR07, 04; Eyes: BG32; Mouth: R85, 83; Shadow: BG10
Accessories:  Nesties Label die; Really Reasonable Ribbon; Glamour Dust glitter; Blue sewing floss

Thanks for taking a look - I appreciate your visits.  Later gator!

Featured Stamper 251 on SCS

This is for the Featured Stamper 251 on SCS.  I CASEd one of her cards and changed everything but the layout.  I kept the strip of lace and put the sentiment on my tag.  I really like this image, but have used it only once before today.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Beautiful Season - SU
Paper:  The 12 Days of Christmas - Paper Studio DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Holly leaves: BG07, 05 and 03; Holly Berries: R27; Bird: E55, 53, 51 and 43
Accessories:  Brown Lace - Really Reasonable Ribbon; Nesties Label die; Tag - unknown; SU pop dots

It was another cold and dreary day (38 degrees was the high).  I went and saw my great nephew - who is now 15 months old and smart as a whip and has a whole mouth full of teeth - and as darling as can be!!  He was a riot to watch, just going from toy to toy.

Thanks for stopping by.  Later gator.

Sparklies and Glitter

I know I've said this before, but, honestly, I am like a crow to things that sparkle and glitter -- whether it be beautiful glass, jewelry, shiny paper -- any sort of bling - I am there!  The challenge at Simon Says is to make a tag or use a tag on a card.  I was obviously in crow mode when I made this, because the only thing that doesn't glitter is the paper!

Card Recipe:

Paper:  The Paper Studio Twelve Days of Christmas DP; SU Red Glitter Paper: Stampers Best Gold Mirror CS; Tag
Accessories:  Nesties Layered Poinsettias; Snowflake dies; Gold Cord

My little Missy cat is feeling better today, she is eating and drinking, but still not playful.  The vet says she is on the mend.  And, she did sleep last night, so that's a good sign.

So, that's really it for today!  Take care and later gator!

Oh, Come Let us Adore Him!

This card is for two challenges on SCS: QFTD88 and TSC1125.  I fell in love with this adorable little image from Mo's DP2 shop.  The little angel has such a look of adoration for Baby Jesus.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Manger Scene digi - Mo's DP2 Shop
Paper:  Bo Bunny Midnight Frost Collection DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Manger: 335, 33, 31 and 30; Straw: YR31, 30; Angel Wings: BG01, 000 0000; Angel's Hair: E55, 53, 51 and 50; Swaddling: B00, 000, 0000; Skin: E21, 00, 000 and R30
Accessories:  Glamour Dust; Fleur de Lis square Nestie die; White/silver ribbon

My youngest cat, Missy (Ms. Bit) has been sick since last evening and I took her to our vet today, but all the vet said was that she might have a little bug or she got into something.  Well, there isn't anything for her to get into around here.  I wasn't overly happy today when I left the vet (although she did give her a quarter of a pill for the nausea) and told me to call her tonight at 6:00 to give her an update.  She has been drinking some water since I got her home and she actually curled up and is finally sleeping this afternoon, so maybe she is on her way to feeling better.  She is such a tiny thing, although she is 12 years old, she only weighs 10 pounds.

Well, have a wonderful holiday week-end.  Later gator!

Thanks for taking a look.

Mo's DP2 110

The challenge at Mo's this week was to use elves, fairies, Santa or a snowman.  I chose one of Mo's new images, Ragged Santa.  I think Santa needs someone to give him a new outfit, he is about threadbare!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Ragged Santa digi - Mo's DP2 Shop
Paper:  Echo Park Season's Greetings DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Santa's outfit:  BG78, 75, 72, 770; Belt/Boots: W7,5,  3; Buckles/Bell: YR23, 21; Patches: YG03, R24
Holly: YG05, 03 and R27; Skin: E21, 00, 000, R20, 30
Accessories:  Glamour Dust glitter; Cheery Lynn Christmas tree die; Whimsy Stamps snowflake die and Whimsy Stamp ticket die; White gel pen; Misc. colored rhinestones; Nesties label die

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day.  Later gator!

CCEE 1147

The challenge at CCEE this week is to make a 1 layer card.  Until I loaded my card, I didn't notice the sentiment is just a tad crooked.  I even used my stamp alignment tool - geez!  I am so not good at one layer (CAS) cards.  If I had put the sentiment on a different piece of paper, I could have moved it and fixed it.  Oh well . . .

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Winter Church, Stampers Best; Impression Obsession All is Calm sentiment
Paper:  SU CS - Not Quite Navy
Ink:  SU White

Thanks for having a look and hope everyone celebrating the Thanksgiving holiday - enjoyed their time with families and friends.  Later gator!

Squigglefly Challenge 125

"This One is Mine" is the title of this adorable kitty on his present from Lynne Stansberry for Squigglefly.  As soon as I saw the release of this digi, I grabbed it from Squigglefly!  As the owner of 2 very spoiled cats, I can most definitely attest to the fact that they will claim a certain package under the tree and sit on it every single day.  What they really want (and usually take before Christmas) is the bows, ribbons and lower ornaments.  I probably have the only Christmas tree in the area that's decorated only two-thirds of the way down.

The challenge at Squigglefly this week was a sketch - with three panels behind the image.  I cut 3 thin panels out of matching DP to my base paper and placed them behind kitty and outlined them in black so they would be a bit more clear.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  This One Is Mine digi by Lynne Stansberry for Squigglefly Stamps
Paper:  Bo Bunny Blitzen Collection DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Kitty:  W5, 3, 1, G14, 12; Present Top: E42, 41; Ribbon: B99, 97, 95, 93 and 91
Accessories:  Glamour Dust glitter; Pop Dots under Kitty

Woo hoo, we have some sun today - yee haw -- I don't know for how long - but it's out this morning.  The temperatures are suppose to be in the high 40's to low 50's, but if there's sun - it's always a bit better.

Thanks for stopping in - later gator!

There's Magic in the Air 11-21-2011

The challenge at There's Magic in the Air (Paper Cupcakes) is to use brown, orange and yellow and a thankful sentiment.  So, I chose to use an image from Paper Cupcakes titled Amaryllis.  While I know that an Amaryllis  is not yellow (at least I don't think it is), I needed some yellow on my image - hence, artistic license.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Amaryllis digi - Paper Cupcakes; Thanksgiving ticket digi sentiments - Paper Cupcakes
Paper:  Bo Bunny et cetera DP; Simple Stories - Generations DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Flower:  Y17, 15, 13, YR16, YG07, 05, 03, BG32, 11, 10, YG67 and 63; SU Pumpkin Pie on ticket
Accessories:  Nesties square Fleur de Lis; Bronze ribbon

Thanks for stopping by.  Later gator!

KKKGz 70

The challenge theme week at Kenny K's is that "kids rule."  Kenny K had some new kids' images - awesome too!  I bought a new one titled "Tommy Boy."  He looks like a little toughie - but is so adorable!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Tommy Boy digi - Kenny K's Downloads
Paper:  Bo Bunny Back to Back Basics DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Skin E21, 00, 000; Jeans/Hat:  W7, 5, 3, 1; Gloves: C3, 1; Jacket:  YG99, 97, 95, 93 and 91; Vest: YG93, 9; T-Shirt: E50; Boots:  C9, 7, 5, 3; Eyes:  G14, 12; Belt Buckle; Billfold Chain and Boot Buckles - embossed with Ranger Silver embossing powder
Accessories:  Nesties square die; Brown/white twine

I love Kenny K's images - the look on Tommy Boy's face is full of mischief!

Thanks for stopping by and later gator!

OSAAT 89

The challenge this week at OSAAT is "anything goes."  I had purchased this image some time back and knew I would use it for Christmas.  I added an Impression Obsession sentiment "All is calm, all is bright."  Silent Night is such a beautiful Christmas song - reminds us what Christmas is about.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Praying digi - Stitchy Stamps for Stitchy Bear; Sentiment - Impression Obsession
Paper:  My Mind's Eye - Lost and Found - Christmas DP and Basic Grey Jovial DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS

Accessories:  Pop dots under image

Thanks for having a look.  Later gator.

Oh, P.S.:  The weather here is rainy, cloudy with temperatures in the 40's - yuk!

MMTPT173

This card is going to Neil in Canada.  Neil was in a horrible accident wherein a truck rearended him while he was on his bike (motorcycle) and now Neil is a quadraplegic - he will never ride again.  However, he is so, so upbeat and positive and has forgiven the young man that hit him and still loves bikes.  So, the teapotters have been tasked with sending him motorcycle cards.  I hope that our cards will bring him some cheer!

QFTD87 and TSC1118 Challenges

This photo didn't turn out well at all - but the image is silver embossed with silver mirror and gold trim behind the image.  This is for QFTD87 (Carol - Bobbiesgirl) and for TSC1118 - to use white, green and silver (or diamond rhinestones) - or both.

I may try taking a better picture later and substitute - because IRL - the card is pretty.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Wreath - Rubber Soul Stamps
Paper:  Ivory CS; Gold Mirror CS and green SU CS
Ink:  Versamark
Accessories:  Nesties rectangle dies

I did one in gold as well - without the green - and I like it too - but I am not going to take a picture of that one either until later.

Thanks for stopping by - hope you all have a relaxing and safe week-end.  Later gator!

Mo's DP2 Challenge 109 and MMSC Challenge 130

The theme this week for Mo's Challenge 109 is "winter."  And, being all too familiar with that theme, and as it's definitely on its way to Illinois, I chose an image from Mo of sledding.  I used a Bella and Bronte image called "Toboggan."  I love Bella and Bronte - they are sweet and the best friends!  This is also for the sketch over at Priscilla's Midnight Madness challenge #130.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Toboggan digi - Mo's DP2 Shop
Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Mitten Weather DP; Gina K Luxury 120 and SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Bronte:  W5, 3, 1 and R30; Bronte's scarf: Y15, 13 and 11; Bella:  E21, 00, 000, R30; Bella's coat, hat, earmuffs, socks and mittens:  YR09, 07, 05, 03 and 01; Bella's Boots:  E99, 97; Toboggan: E55, 53 and 51; Snowflakes and snow: BG10, 0000
Accessories:  Red/white and green/white twine; Glamour Dust on fur and snow; Icicle Stickles on Snowflakes; Nesties Label die; Green Bella's Baubles from SCACD

The high today was only 50 degrees with a brisk wind - too chilly to be without a jacket!

Only 6 months before I can open my pool!  Woo Hoo!!

Take care and thanks for stopping by!  Later Gator!

Squigglefly 124 Challenge

Marlene's team is giving the challenge at Squigglefly (124) this week - and it is to make a birthday card.  AND, IT'S MARLENE'S BIRTHDAY THIS MONTH - SO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU - MARLENE - AND MANY, MANY MORE!!!!  I used an image by Lynn Stansberry for Squigglefly titled "Smile Pretty."  I'm pretty sure this dapper and grand old gentleman has had many, many happy birthdays and, the way he is winking, he has had some pretty spiffy birthdays - no telling his stories either!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Smile Pretty digi by Lynn Stansberry for Squigglefly
Paper: My Mind's Eye - Lost and Found - Union Square DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Hat:  E35, 35, 33; Jacket: E25, 23, 21 and 00; Skin: E11, 11, 000; Hair: W3, 1; Ascot: B95, 93
Accessories:  Nesties Label Three die; SU 2 - label punches; Brown/White Twine

There's Magic in the Air

My sweet and good friend, Shirley, one of the design team members from There's Magic in the Air (Paper Cupcakes) gave the challenge this week to make a card with a half circle and the colors orange, brown and blue.  Well, last night, I was feeling pretty good that I had already finished my card for the challenge - yeppers - done already.  Then I looked at my little list of challenges and saw the dreaded words "half circle."  Crud, I forgot the half circle for the card - what to do?  I hope it counts, but I just took an SU punch - made a half circle out of some matching DP from the packet and slid it under the die and sentiment - it's got to be a senior moment - because I did read the challenge in the beginning and remembered Shirley said to use a half circle - but when I made the card - the half circle slid away somewhere - wherever those pertinent thoughts go!

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Paper Cupcakes digi - Own on Pumpkin and Thanksgiving sentiment tickets
Paper:  We R Memory Keepers Vintage T DP; Gina K Luxury 120; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Pumpkin:  YR16, 14, 12; Owl: E25, 23, 21, 15, 13, YR23, Y26; Leaves, pumpkin stem, vines, grass:  YG97, 95, G24, YG07, 05 and 03; Owl hat/shirt: W5, 3, 1
Accessories:  Nesties Labels One; SU circle punch; Twine: brown/white, orange/white and blue/white

Somewhere, there is a large abyss full of gazillions of lost thoughts - all floating around - bumping into each other - lost forever by their owners!

Thanks for stopping by - take care and later gator!

Kenny K's Krafty Girlz Challenge 69

Kenny K's Challenge 69 is to use embossing on your card.  I used a snowflake embossing panel behind the image oval.  I ended up cutting back the embossed panel and putting DP behind that - since the color of the embossed panel was so light.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Christmas Hottie digi - Kenny K's Downloads
Paper:  Milton & Co. Christmas DP; Gina K Luxury 120 CS; SU CS
Ink:  Copics:  Hat/Boots/Gloves/Outfit: RV95, 93 and 91; Fur on Gloves/Hat/Boots:  RV00, 000; Skin: E21, 00, 000, R30; Hair: E55, 53, 51 and 50; Holly: YG07; Berries/Bow: R24
Accessories:  Nesties scalloped oval die; Cuttlebug snowflake EF; Snowflake die: Winter Jewel I from Whimsy Stamps; Glamour Dust glitter

Okeedokee - gotta link this up to KKKGz and then run a few errands.  Be well.  Later gator!

OSAAT 88

Black and white is the theme of the challenge this week for OSAAT 88.  I used an image from Gingerloft at Stitchy Bear Stamps called Winter Tree.  I printed it to size, added glitter and mounted it on my card layers.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Winter Tree digi by Gingerloft for Stitchy Bear Stamps
Paper:  SU CS
Ink:  Computer
Accessories:  Glamour Dust glitter and embossing folder

The glitter doesn't show well - although the day is quite clouded over - so there was no sun to pick up on the glitter.

I hope everyone had a relaxing and restful week-end. I did a bit of cleaning and laundry and worked on a few cards - nothing out of the ordinary.

I've one more card to load and link - so later gator - back in a few.
